National Geographic has announced the winners of the 2016 Travel Photographer of The Year Contest. Anthony Lau was the Grand Prize winner – a seven-day trip for two on the Polar Bear Safari at a National Geographic Unique Lodge: Churchill Wild-Seal River Heritage Lodge – with his Winter Horseman photo.

Only twelve photos were selected from thousands that were submitted into the contest. The prizes consisted in:

  • Grand Prize: A Polar Bear Safari for Two at Churchill Wild-Seal River Heritage Lodge, a Nat Geo Unique Lodge;
  • First Prize: Sony Alpha a6300 Mirrorless Digital Camera;
  • Second Prize: The Art of Travel Photography Course on DVD;
  • Third Prize: Destinations of a Lifetime, National Geographic Book.

So, without further announcements, here are the twelve winners of 2016.
