Verisk Maplecroft, one of the biggest global risk and strategic consulting company, has recently compiled a top of the most violent countries on the planet.
For this research, the company has taken into account many factors such as: robbery, kidnapping, drug traffic, extortion, and other activities that involve or lead to violence. It came up that the most dangerous countries are from Latin America, Africa and Middle East.
The company analyzed data from 198 countries, and each country has been assigned a rating from 0 to 10, where 0 means extreme risk and 10 means low risk.
Here are the countries that, according to Verisk Maplecroft’s research, pose an extreme risk of violent crime.
Libya, North Africa (Rating: 2.30)
Pakistan, South Asia (Rating: 1.98)
El Salvador, Central America (Rating: 1.55)
Venezuela, South America (Rating: 1.46)
Syria, Middle East (Rating: 1.19)
Guatemala, Central America (Rating: 0.72)
Afghanistan, Central Asia (Rating: 0.71)
